Careers
Test Engineer
ONiO builds microcontrollers that run without batteries — but that’s not the point. Our chips harvest ambient energy — light, heat, RF — and just work. No wires. No recharging rituals. No maintenance loops. We don’t believe batteries are evil. We just don’t assume they’ll always be there. Our first chip, ONiO.zero, is a wireless microcontroller built from scratch to run on harvested energy. It cold-starts from under a microwatt. It runs BLE and other radios.
Help us verify the world’s most energy-efficient microcontrollers. We’re looking for a Test Engineer to own wafer, packaged, and system-level testing of our batteryless SoCs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans for wafer-level, packaged, and system-level testing
- Build automated test programs (ATE platforms like Teradyne/Advantest or custom setups)
- Generate test patterns and validate functionality, performance, and parametrics
- Debug test failures and work closely with design, DFT, and product teams
- Support bring-up and correlate silicon from lab to production
- Analyze test data for yield, margin, and process variation insights
- Develop test hardware: load boards, probe cards, sockets
- Document procedures, results, and support test transfer to mass production
- Participate in DFT reviews and improve test coverage
- Support production ramp, test time reduction, and cost optimization
Requirements
- Semiconductor test experience (bench or ATE) — 2+ years preferred
- Test scripting/programming (Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, or ATE languages)
- Strong understanding of analog/digital measurements and lab instrumentation
- Familiarity with IC test methodologies: parametric, functional, boundary testing
- Knowledge of DFT (scan, BIST, JTAG) is a plus
- Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field
- Comfortable analyzing large datasets and working in lab environments
- Strong debugging skills and attention to detail
Bonus
- Yield improvement and test limit optimization experience
- Test infrastructure background for high-volume manufacturing
Benefits
- Competitive salary and insurance, health & pension benefits
- Stock options — skin in the game
- The chance to shape real, cutting-edge products
- Fast-paced, diverse, design-forward environment
- Work-life balance, family-friendly policies
