Business Controller

ONiO builds microcontrollers that run without batteries, but that’s not the point. Our chips harvest ambient energy, light, heat, RF, and just work. No wires. No recharging rituals. No maintenance loops. We don’t believe batteries are evil. We just don’t assume they’ll always be there. Our first chip, ONiO.zero, is a wireless microcontroller built from scratch to run on harvested energy. It cold-starts from under a microwatt. It runs BLE and other radios.

We’re scaling fast, new markets, new products, new opportunities. To keep up, we need someone who can take ownership of our financial backbone today, and grow into our CFO tomorrow. This role is as much about building as it is about running,  setting up systems, handling the day-to-day, and steering long-term strategy.

What you'll do

  • Own financial planning, reporting, and analysis
  • Handle budgets, forecasts, KPIs - and make sure they’re useful, not just numbers
  • Develop financial systems, routines, and internal controls from the ground up
  • Work on both details (month-end, reconciliations, compliance) and strategy (funding, scaling, international expansion)
  • Drive processes for financing, investor reporting, and board materials
  • Partner with leadership across the company to turn data into decisions
  • Navigate international operations, tax, and reporting requirements

You have

  • Strong background in finance, controlling, or business analysis
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting, and building financial models
  • Ability to work across the spectrum: details, daily tasks, and high-level strategy
  • Experience working internationally, across borders and entities
  • Experience with financial reporting to authorities and facilitating audits
  • Curiosity about tech and scaling companies
  • Based in Oslo (this is hands-on, collaborative work)
  • Fluent English, Norwegian and Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems

Bonus points

  • Experience from a startup/scale-up environment
  • Exposure to fundraising and investor relations
  • Knowledge of IFRS and group reporting
  • Understanding of hardware or semiconductor industries

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and insurance, health & pension benefits
  • Stock options — skin in the game
  • The chance to shape real, cutting-edge products
  • Fast-paced, diverse, design-forward environment
  • Work-life balance, family-friendly policies

You’ll work directly with the CEO and management team. We’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves, build, and grow, someone who’s ready to step into CFO shoes when the time is right.
