Analog Designer

ONiO builds microcontrollers that run without batteries — but that’s not the point. Our chips harvest ambient energy — light, heat, RF — and just work. No wires. No recharging rituals. No maintenance loops. We don’t believe batteries are evil. We just don’t assume they’ll always be there. Our first chip, ONiO.zero, is a wireless microcontroller built from scratch to run on harvested energy. It cold-starts from under a microwatt. It runs BLE and other radios.

We’re looking for an Analog IC Designer to help us build the next wave of batteryless products. You’ll design ultra-low-power analog circuits that bring our energy harvesting platform to life.

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate analog building blocks (bandgaps, LDOs, ADCs, comparators, oscillators, ADPLLs)
  • Define and refine specs based on system and application needs
  • Perform transistor-level design in deep submicron CMOS (180nm down to 22nm)
  • Run schematic capture, pre- and post-layout simulations with industry EDA tools
  • Collaborate across digital, mixed-signal, and software teams for seamless integration
  • Drive layout to ensure matching, parasitic control, and area optimization
  • Document designs, participate in reviews, and maintain the design database
  • Support silicon validation, test chip evaluation, and lab debug
  • Contribute to system architecture for next-gen MCUs and sensor interfaces
  • Improve IP reuse across projects and tapeouts

Requirements

  • Solid analog circuit design experience in CMOS (5+ years preferred)
  • Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, HSPICE, or similar tools
  • Deep understanding of noise, mismatch, offset, stability, and process variation
  • Good grasp of analog layout principles and techniques
  • Experience with core analog circuits: amps, voltage/current references, ADC/DACs, biasing, frequency generation
  • Working knowledge of mixed-signal design and integration challenges
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience with ultra-low-power analog for IoT or battery-powered devices

Bonus skills

  • Post-silicon debug and automated measurement scripting (Python, MATLAB)

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and insurance, health & pension benefits
  • Stock options — skin in the game
  • The chance to shape real, cutting-edge products
  • Fast-paced, diverse, design-forward environment
  • Work-life balance, family-friendly policies
